Performance Competition Information
Performer registrations will be accepted until February 2, 2025. Registration is a two step process. First, participants should register by filling out the google docs form via the "Registration Form" link below. Second, all participants must finalize registration by making payments through our partner website registration system, Aerial Antics, via the "Registration Payment" link below. Pricing information can be found here. Registration can be paid in installments. This festival is non-refundable, with the following exceptions: Doctor notes will be required for injury or illness. In the case of a pandemic or natural disaster causing the event to be cancelled, a credit will be given to rescheduled/future events.

ENTRY INFORMATION
CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS

Novice: 1-2 years of training in the category and/or 0-5 hours of training/rehearsals per week. 1st year performing. Amateur- no professional (paid) performance experience.
​
Intermediate: 3-4 years of training in the category and/or 5-10 hours of training/rehearsals per week. 2-3 years performing. No professional (paid) performance experience.
Elite: 5+ years of training in the category and/or 10+ hours of training/rehearsals per week. 4-5+ years performing. Any participant with professional (paid) performing experience required to enter in this category.
AGE CLASSES
7-12 Kids
13-17 Teen
18+ Adult
Age calculated as of March 1, 2025.
PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
For all performers under 16: Instructors have to be present in the wing during a performance. The instructor needs to be prepared to step in should anything go wrong, and their presence is required to help the performer. ​
TIME LIMITS
There is no minimum time limit, the maximum time for each division is as follows:
​SOLO
Novice: 2 minutes
Intermediate: 3 minutes
Elite: 3.5 minutes
DUET
All Levels 4 minutes

PROP TIME LIMITS
30 sec set up and take down. Props must not damage or scratch the flooring.

AERIAL RIGGING, SAFETY & STAGE INFORMATION

Performances will be in the LabO Theatre. Performers will use a central rigging point, attached to a structural beam, with a maximum height of approximately 6 m (20'). The height of visibility in the theatre is approximately 6 m (20').

Our riggers will set up and take down your apparatus from stage level. Performers or instructors will be given a short rehearsal time to speak with the rigging technician to ensure proper height of the apparatus for their performance.

During their performance time, performers have 1.5 mins to set up, 1.5 mins to take down their apparatus and any props. Props cannot damage any equipment or permanent fixtures, including flooring.

Performers must bring their own aerial apparatus, and items (carabiners, slings, etc), required to attached to the swivel on the rigging point provided.

Crash Mats: We are providing a 5ft x 7ft x 6 inch crash mat underneath the apparatus. It is mandatory to have the crash mat underneath your apparatus during the competition, there will be no exceptions to this rule. Performers are welcome to bring their own mat to use that is approved ahead of time by the Festival, if they do not want to use the one provided.

A 3 m (10') inflatable air floor can be provided for floor acrobatics upon request.

The performance floorspace in the theatre is 11.2 m (37') wide by 7.6 m (22') deep. ​
